⚙️ Scribbles Feature Wishlist

Scribbles

Scribbles’ development has been coming along very nicely, with feature additions enhancing the product in very pleasing ways whilst maintaining and cementing the simplicity it has managed to establish so far.

All credit to Vincent, the developer, for having what seems to be a grounded vision of how the platform should be whilst laying the foundations that allow him to make enhancements without overwhelming the core structure.

With that said, and trusting in Vincent’s abilities, there are a few features I’d like to see implemented on Scribbles:

Search: There’s currently a search once you sign in to Scribbles, allowing you to search for all posts; drafts or published, and pages. Site-wide keyword search functionality on the blogs with a permanent search button that displays on every page for easy accessibility would be great. Maybe position it next to the RSS subscribe field on the header?

Markdown: The Rich Text format works great and the compose window is a delight to use. For those who like to compose text outside of Scribbles (like myself, using Ulysses or Apple Notes), importing/copying/pasting formatted text into the Scribbles editor can sometimes present all kinds of formatting issues, especially spacing between paragraphs.

Post Previews: I love previewing blog posts before hitting publish to see how it presents itself on the blog, a great way to make any adjustments needed regarding formatting and structure. I’d love to see this functionality added to Scribbles.

Categories (potentially coming soon): Being a Lifetime plan member allows me to create unlimited blogs, I’ve been fighting the compulsive urge to create additional blogs, for now. Categories will be a great help. Side feature requests on top of categories; it might not hurt to have tags feature as well, perhaps?

I have no doubt Vincent has a long list of feature requests, and potentially some of the above are on that list already, so I hope they are considered.
